Up to now we've been following enlisted troops as they learn the skills that'll turn them into effective Soldiers. Now, we're giving you a chance to see what a future officer must learn in order to effectively lead those Soldiers in battle. Kenia Mills takes us to Sand Hill to see what happens when an Officer Candidate is introduced to the stress of simulated combat for one day.

  • My son is in this vid. We're very proud of him.

  • Don't get worried by this guys. They're going to teach you how to lead like this before you even do the simulation like you see in the video. No one is born a leader. You learn from your peers. I was really shy before the Army. Then once I came to OCS my platoon sergeant told me that theres no need to be. You are the officer, the commander in the Army. Your soldiers are going to expect you to yell and give orders.

  • @specialist42r No you don't have to be a NCO to become an officer. Yes you can do it but its too much of an hassle. Just get your degree first and then become an officer. Get it over with first so you don't have to worry about it. A soldier respects you off performace and fairness. They resepct you because you listen to them.

  • @McDogginified Sometimes I really wonder if any one can be an officer... I understand that there is a strict selection process, but it just seems that there is more to be expected out of a cadet/soldier before he or she can even begin to think of becoming an officer or even a leader....My question is do you have to be an NCO before you go through OCS? I'm sure that it will tremendously help the aspiring soldier.

  • @dirtbikeryzz You have about 2 hrs. of 14 weeks, I think they got smoked to.

  • Man they do way more than we did, in basic in these videos... We spent more time getting smoked than doing cool shit. Strong or smart they said... Guess we where strong.

  • thats f***ing awesome

  • He's my brother. :)
