Plus you cant say stuff about his damsels because:
A. Damsels are territorial to other fish, they don't bother clams.
B. They are very cheap and easy to get a hold of
C. They are one of the most hardy saltwater fish
D. Not ALL of them are the violent little buggers that you normally see.
lastly
E. Your name is gangbusta so you probably are only 10 years old and obsessed with the ghetto culture which means you dont have 10 years of experience with tanks.

Love the GF's expression! I have damsels in my tank and four clams - maybe I should quit now gangbusta?
-
@gangbusta My clam spawn when its only 8 inch 2 years ago :P, It ain't dead yet. My local fish store said that size don't matter when they spawn, only when it reach sexual maturity. Plus, say a message in a nice way, not in a trolls message like you are... :P

@exilev1et Hey I have a maxima clam and I have a damsel. Not that I am inexperienced, I had tanks for 10 years now. I actually like yellowtail damsels.

sorry needed to edit FAWKIN IGNORANT.

Was that a joke??
"I have over 10 years in the hobbie and it may be hard to admit but you have damsels in your tank which tell me you are a newbie and inexperienced and should not have that clam."
That is equivalent to saying having anything common or cheap is being a "newbie" goddam your pretty dumb.

LOL the damzel is like WTF!

Maxima's reach sexual maturity way before it gets to 12 inches. Your probably thinking about the bigger ones like Tridacna Derasa and Tridacna Gigas.
yes Angelfishlover is correct usually the clams dont spawn until they are atleast 12 inches or bigger, what you are seeing now is a stressed clam trying to make babys before it dies which is most likely it is dead by now cause people don't research things before they buy them and thats just stupid. I have over 10 years in the hobbie and it may be hard to admit but you have damsels in your tank which tell me you are a newbie and inexperienced and should not have that clam.

Actually, size has nothing to do with it. This species of clam only reaches approx 12" when fully grown in the wild, and it reaches sexual maturity long before it reaches that size. That damsel is probably older than you are, and is a model citizen in the tank.
