Motorbiking round France and more.... This was the Bell - Moore (moto) tour de France on two of the finest all round, medium weight machines ever made :)
A blue 1994 BMW K75s & red 1996 Honda VFR750
The route began and ended at Calais. Touring France was the main aim for this trip although a few little de-tours were taken enroute i.e: Monaco and a small portion of north west Italy. Then going home back into France again via a route over the alpline mountain range, on the otherside we joined the route north past Lyon and the last haul to return to Calais then ferry home.
Both bikes were virtually flawless all bar a few minor hiccups like burnt out break pads and faulty regulator on the BM. The V developed a hole in the exhaust silencer, hence her sounding rather throaty on the final haul north!Oh dear! Also by this time the k75's regulator had failed causing a 'disco like' light display on the péage with flashing lights and indicators in torrential rain.. Most french drivers seemed indifferent to it but a good old bit of fun non the less..
Overall an epic trip! Would go again and for longer :D

  • Eventually did the trip in the end. Pics here -

The link to our trip is on my mg airscarf video. Search for '1200 mile european camping trip'. Plenty of pics in my post. It was awesome too.

  • @mikemccannable Thanks for the tip Groovey :)

  • great trip, as below how many days was it ?

  • How many days did it take?

  • @mikemccannable Superb. Thanks for the reply :)

  • @LeighPing great vid......... we also do this trip every year. Dont plan any campsites, every town/village in france has a municipal campsite so you are never far fron one and they are cheap.

  • Great video. I'm taking my 21 year old son with me on a camping trip to central France in our mx5 in June 2011 for a week or so.

Should we book ahead with campsites or just find them as we go? Personally, I'd prefer not to have any real route or schedule. Would that be more problematic? Any advice welcome. Thanks.

  • im planning a europe ride soon great vid , the roads look amazing
