Here are some photos of old A/FX cars & early to late Pro Stockers with Jan & Dean and The Beach Boys doin' some classic oldies.
NOTE: 'Chevoom' 1966 Chevelle sponsored by Gratiot Auto Supply in Detroit was one of the first A/FX or early 'Funny Cars' I ever saw run. Ran mostly at Detroit Dragway (Sibley # Dix roads).

  • Great memories,Wow!!!!!!!

  • A fastback Nova ? i didn't know it existed !

this a/fx fastback was just built for drag racing right ? it's not a stock option ?

whatever, nice vid ! i love the first song ... drag city ... and this old drags too of course !

  • man love the posting ... OK all you mopar guys anyone have pics of MAGIC? i would love to see some my dad has none, i can remember most of these car names from his storys

  • Fantastic!!!!! I didn't see Gas Rhonda or Gapp & Roushes four door Maverick. Those are two of my alltime favorite cars. I did see Irwindale Raceway in one of the photos. I used to live about 3 miles from that track in Baldwin Park Calif. Every Sat. night the roar of the track was so loud I thought it was in my backyard!

  • Well there are only about half the drag strips there used to be in the early days, so its harder and harder to see, I like jet drags myself. With the prices of fuel though its becoming harder and harder to justify even putting the gas down hard on the open interstate when no one is around.

  • Grumpy Vega! I grew up down the road from his shop in Malvern Pa. i remember that car.

    Nice job!!

  • A/FX'ers were the origin of modern Funny Cars.

    Wonderful old photos!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • I remember most of those cars. Thanks for the blast from the past..!!

  • NICE!!!
