While I appreciate your version of this poem, I can't help but feel that the video nearly missed the entire point of poem. After having served 17 years in the Army before being hurt, I can't begin to count how many holidays I spent alone. Deployed, readiness exercises, and even staff duty. Your depiction of the soldier lying here misses the mark in demonstrating the hardships and turmoil that one makes for those at home. I apologize for seeming unappreciative, however, it's just my take.
