In a recent poll, Ron Paul polled 4th place at 8%, ahead of Rick Perry at 6%, but unless you read the results on the screen, you might not have known that.

  • @brscic The thing you're forgetting is that we ARE the government - we have a franchise and through that franchise, we can have a voice in how our society works. In the free marketverse, where we're all rationally self-interested and the role of government is reduced to minding property courts, we cede that franchise to capital. We've tried that in the past, it was called the industrial revolution.

  • @twistycat Maybe ,.. Other option is for capital to flee the country and have centralized planning of economic activity,... and that is not good(It does not work). I still believe market can regulate better than a police state.

  • @brscic He's not offering me more liberty, he's offering more liberty to corporate America. That's the subtext when he's talking about states rights. I don't have animosity towards you for your faith, I just question your critical thinking skills.

  • I guess I missed the class that taught people to mention the first 3 results and skip to the 5th.

  • @twistycat :I am just saying ,..If you do not have liberty as a human being,.. you have nothing,.. all this group mentality, tribalism and collectivism is really hard rooted in us all,.. I really don't thing having oppressive regimes to scatter us into groups helps,.. Respect others, even if their understanding of morality is very different,.. and get the repressive (monopole) power as government out of our businesses as much as possible,.. Will we have some clashes,.. sure,..but less if we coop

  • @twistycat : elaborate,.. How do my or doctor Paul's views and personal stance (I probably had a girl pop a pill once,.. now I am not sure that was ok) influence on your decision,.. when he want's to give you more freedom(and responsibility) ,.. that is the point of freedom and liberty ,.. I think. You going to have animosity twords me because I practice Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Muslim faith? Or are you going to look at me as a faulty man we all are and cooperate with me based on being a human?

  • @twistycat

brscic never said Ron Paul was a libertarian. -_- furthermore, who cares about his view on abortion? So what if he isn't a perfect ideological match? There are more things to worry about, and his views on abortion won't significantly change anything.

  • @brscic Who cares who's running in fourth place among the radical right? The man's a zealot who's either lying about his plans or is sufficiently unrealistic about the politics of the presidency that he's effectively disqualified himself. And if you think he's a true libertarian, read up on his views on abortion.
