@lest128 it's for insulation and when you douse the sides in the wet mixture of clay water the plaster mix will stick to it so you can make the walls.

where are you located? i noticed you mentioned your on an island? we are on vancouver island and giong to be building a cob home coming up this spring out west 40 mins boat ride from tofino... would like to hear your stories <3

2:50 made me laugh! When I used to work on a carpentry crew, we had a joke that "if something didn't fit, get a bigger hammer!" You guys win with that monster!
