the Arab world did not recognize Israel until recently. first maverick country to do so was Egypt under era of late Egyptian president, Anwar Sadat (his famous trip to Israel) he was quickly denounced by the Arab League, and Egypt was ostracized by the Arab world for many years to come.

world was different prior to these events, Egypt/Arabs thought it incumbent to free all Palestinian territories of Zionist occupation first before declaring a Palestinian sate

could it be that by not accepting Gaza, Egypt is acknowledging the fact that Gaza belongs to its natives, the Palestinians, who have dwelled this strip of land uninterrupted for thousands of years? could it be that Egypt recognizes that Palestinians, who never had a state of their own are entitled to do so?

the happiness of the Israelis is built on the sorrows of the Palestinians, once this fact is addressed, the seething hatred on both sides could stop.

Just a little history lesson for you. When Israel took Gaza, in a defensive war in 1967, it tried to return in to Egypt. Prior to the war, it was Egyptian land.

Egypt would not accept it!

Why don't people ask Egypt why they don't take back their land and their people?
