I have a question about the wimhurst machine..When it is generating the power, how drag is on the crank? When a load is applied does this induce make it harder to crank?

hey there, if you add some magnets on your disks they would spin themselves, also creating free energy

This design is quite forgiving. Yes - discs can touch, but should not. Nothing has to be precise. Discs can wobble. Machine will still work fine. But touching discs will stick together and make movement freeze up, or make machine handle very hard to turn.

Just put a layer of copper mesh around that spark discharge and send it to the + terminal of a battery through an inductive load. You, my friend, will be very surprised. ; )
this machine is awesome!
but questions: do the metal plates on the machine face out and away from each other or in towards each other? do the collecting combs make contact with the metal plates? and do the neutralizing brushes make contact with the plates?

Metal plates on the discs faces out from each other. The collecting combs don't make contact but are very close to the plates. While neutralizing brushes make contacts with plates

is that homemade? and did u put bearings between the 2 disks? if not, what material u put?
scion171777 2 years ago
Yes it's 100% homemade and built with recycled stuff
All components are built by hand
I used the common hand tools and an electric drill.
The two disks are supported by pulleys made of wood with two screws. Each disks rotate on two brass cylinders with bore from 4mm. Cylinders rotate freely on the axis of steel that is fixed.
If you have additional questions you can write me here
