I much prefer Jasper de Waal's recent recording with Concertgebouw. The lightness of tone is amazing and effortless, none of that punching effect at the start of most phrases. Try it - though haven't found a video yet. This is hard work compared

Nope. He plays a Paxman model 20, Medium bore. F/Bb (Sib) but has chosen to re-arrange this piece to play not in the original key of D but in the key of Bb (Sib).

I love how beautifully he can control his wonderful high notes and blend in flawlessly with the musicians around him! What a mastery of the art!
