The Games We Play: Demi

We had met up with the boys far down by the lake. It took at least half an hour of walking. Selena really wasnt joking when she said it was going to be private. It was almost sundown and it was getting a little chilly. We walked on the trail passed the cabins, passed the boat rental, passed the playground, and finally got to a small camping spot. I could see a small fire about 20 yards away. We as we approached I saw three figures around it. Nick, Kevin, and Joe Im sure.

"Hey guys!" Selena called out. There were three logs set up around the fire. They were small and only two people could fit on each. Nick was sitting on a log and Selena joined him. Kevin was trying to get something cooking while Joe was jumping up and down, just being well, Joe.
"Oh hey Selena!" Joe said turning to face us.
"What were you doing just then?" I asked.
"Nothing. Bouncing." he replied. "Working up an appetite. You know...the usual."
"No I don't actually." I said sitting down on the next log between Selena and Kevin.
"You wanna sit?" I asked him.
"Alright." he said plopping down across from me.
"The food is going to ready in a few minutes. I'm not sure how good its going to taste, but I promise it'll be cooked." Kevin assured us.
"More like burnt." Nick complained.
"Aww it won't be that bad." Selena said, linking her left arm into his right. He took her hand in his and kissed it. They were really cute!
"Hey guys! No PDA!" Joe shouted.
"You're just jealous." Nick said back.
"Guys, guys! Come on." Kevin said. "We're here to have a good time and catch up with each other not fight."
"Sorry." Nick and Joe said at the same time. I saw Selena wink at me as she cleared her throat.
"Being out here, nature's calling." She laughed. "Nick will you come with me?" She asked.
"Why can't you just ask Dem..." he began, only to be cut off by her elbowing him in the stomach. "Oh! Yeah sure." he smiled. Wow. That wasn't obvious at all Nicholas. I thought sarcastically.
Kevin pulled three blankets out of his book bag and handed one to me, one to Joe and took one and placed it on his seat. Then he walked over to Nick's bag and pulled out to more, setting them where Nick and Selena's seats were.
"You're such a big brother." I laughed at him. I mean, yes, the idea of dinner by a fire under the stars was really romantic, but not really my kind of rocker chick date. I spent a few minutes talking with Kevin about how life was going for them until he said that he was going to go find some more wood for the fire. I looked at Kevin, then to Joe. Then back to Kevin and nodded. I knew he wasn't coming back.
"Want us to come?" Joe asked.
"No. It's fine. I'll just be a minute." he said. Lies! He got up and walked into the forest.
