What´s all this super-formal courtley ballyhoo about:"Thank you Mr President,it´s an honour to have you here"blah blah.

No one gets verbally addressed here like that in Europe...people would shake with laughter if they had to watch that in German,French,English,Spanish etc TVs.

We just say:Good day Mr President,Mr Prime Minister,Mr Chancellor(MAYBE a "nice to see you")+we don´t have to excuse ourselves with our profession when speaking to a politician first time.
