The United Way of Greater Los Angeles works to improve the quality of life for all in Greater Los Angeles by creating pathways out of poverty. In its 10-year action plan, United Way plans to meet basic needs such as food, shelter and health care; to improve educational achievement among youths; and to help families find the opportunities and skills they need to become financially stable.
