installation instructions and specs for complete information.

Today on this 2005 Ford F-150, we are going to be installing the Bull Ring Heavy Duty Retractable Anchors, part number EM4001. To install these retractable anchors we first need to locate our stake pockets on the vehicle. On this particular model we are only going to be installing 4 of the retractable anchors because we do have a tool box at the front. In fact you will notice on the Ford F-150 the stake pockets actually have covers on them, so we do need to remove those first. I am going to take a flat head screw driver and pop those right out. :26

Then we will take the anchor itself, if you look at it here, we have three individual sections. The bottom piece that is attached to the ring, the middle black section which is actually going to clamp to our stake pocket, and then a plastic cover. To install it, its very simple. We just want to take and angle both the bottom yellow piece and the black mounting plate and angle those. We are trying to angle them under the lip of the stake pocket. We want to center that in the stake pocket hole. :57

We will next take the two screws that are provided with our anchors and mount that into place. You can see we have the attaching holes here that are just below the retractable anchor. You then want to take the ring and lift that up, that is going to bring the threads of the mounting plate up towards us. Then go ahead and one of the screws. To get it started, go ahead and the other one. From there we can do a final positioning of the anchor, and then continue to tighten it down fully. And that is all there is to it! You can see now with the Bull Ring installed, the retractable ring will pull up when we want to use it, and we will use that for the attachment point for our tie downs. You want to continue to the other three and our installation will be complete. That will conclude the installation of the retractable anchors from Bull Ring, part number EM4001.
