This is one of the big reasons why I voted for Obama in 2012.

I have been thinking about that and will definitely consider it, luckily my life is very good right now but it can always help to talk to someone, thanks.

If you are having trouble in life, then I would suggest seeing a therapist.

Would you recommended I seek out specialist advice? You seem trustworthy and I will listen to your opinion.

Most mental disorders follow the diathesis-stress model, meaning that people can be genetically predisposed to have a mental disorder that won't appear unless you have a stressful event. I would definitely advice against self-diagnosis, even if you are a therapist; way too much room for bias. Essentially OCD often revolves around the need to feel clean, and being molested can lead some people to feel unclean. That can definitely lead to OCD.

It can cause OCD and other mental disorders? Isn't OCD a genetic thing because I am self diagnosed? But I was also once abused by a neighbour when I was younger, could that be the cause? I was just enquiring.
