The Rationals were on the Ann Arbor scene before any other band of the era and in my experience are remembered with fondness by all the other bands that came after them. Their hit "Respect" made the national charts.
Although the entire band seldom plays together anymore, lead singer Scot Morgan is still playing and frequently tours venues in Europe and the United States. This short video is a tribute to the four fine musicians who made up "The Rationals."

I LOVE this song! Totally my favorite version of this song. I always kind of resented it growing up. This puts a whole new spin on it. Thanks for sharing! :)

Such a power voice. Even tho i'm from Columbus ohio and they are from Michigan so is my favorite singer Steveland Morris (Stevie Wonder). I love the Power in the vocies, excellent version of this classic. Thanks turning me on to this stuff, WOW i've been missing this in my collection of songs. Thanks again

This is a cover of the song by 'Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans' released in 1962 on the Phillies label. The Rationals do an exceptional job one it.

Did they do this version?

I never heard the Miley Cyrus version until just about a minute ago but I think she's covering the jackson 5, not the Rationals. Too be honest almost everybody's rock/soul version sounds like this one, tempo wise. These guys do an awesome job at singing this and make it top notch.

The guys always gave 200 % performance at all their gigs. This was one of my favorites they did. They were such great guys! I will always remember the Triumph TR4

The Dave Clark Five actually covered this song before The Rationals, but this is still pretty cool.
