  • A real All American Rock N Roll Band. That should really get credit for making great music for over 36 years !!!!

  • Cheap Trick took the stage six hours after the gates opened. Also playing were Steve Dahl and Teenage Radiation (disco demolition fame), Molly Hatchet, The Babys, and AC/DC with Bon Scott. Awesome, awesome show from the cornfields and rolling hills of far northern Illinois in the summer of 1979.

  • I was there. Camped out the night before in the parking lot. People throwing beer bottles with M-80's in 'em. Total madness. Too bad there are no clips of AC/DC w/Bon. They kicked it.

  • We tried to sleep in the car the nite before, but the fireworks were insaine, My first time seing AC/DC and when Bon came into the audience we were right there. became an instant fan.

  • Great Concert, wonder if there is anymore footage?

  • look at the sky ,,,, no chemtrails back then

  • Now this is the Cheap Trick we all know and love \m/

  • Who's the asshole with the dislike? Jann Wenner?

  • :) My first concert.

  • I was there - waaay back, just after I graduated from high school. Good times.

  • oh whatever.....hahahahahahhaha. u idiot

  • I would have rather seen the Babys performance

  • i wish i was alive during this :(

  • @tutty449

I was the front of the gates for what seems like several hours. We eventually pushed through the gate security and made a dash for the stage.

  • I took some cool photo's at this concert. Truth is it was a great show with Molley Hatchet, Steve Dahl, The Babies (actually flipped off the crowd) how the Babies accepted a gig between AC/DC with Bon Scott...and the hometown boys of Cheap Trick is beyond me. I am actually in this video at about 5:37 plus or minus a few seconds taking pictures near the right edge of mid level.

  • whoever kept this video is a good person

  • They booed the Babies off the stage!!! This was a hardcore RR audience. The Babies were at their peak, too!!!!

  • Finally, a good Norwegian group. Rock on Nielsen!!!!!

  • These guys were and still are the best fuckin' band to ever come to your town. They deserve more credit for being the geniuses they are.

  • Jesus, Robin Zander really was good-looking.

  • Wish I'd seen them at this concert, :-( !!!

  • hope they've grown back by now!

ROTFLMFAO! Anyway, you've made my day!

Thank you so much for posting this!

  • Holy crap, I was there too!

    Winnebago Campgrounds!

    I can't believe I'm seeing this footage!

It really was an amazing show!

I've seen Cheap Trick more times than I've seen any other band(Ramones a close 2nd).

And SO lucky to have seen AC/DC before Bon checked out. Shows like this were huge after 1976 Superbowl of Rock series. Was at the Aerosmith, Jeff Beck, Rick Derringer show@original Comiskey Park, 7/10/1976.

Damn, those were the days! Probably left a couple of brain cells at each show, hope

  • This was my dad's first concert he was siting six rows back from the stage.I showed him the video and he remembered the whole thing.

  • You can actually hear Rick screaming "Hey!" at 2:12 as loud as the music...that's what i call energy!

  • I was there!!!

  • The first time I saw Cheap Trick was at JDs White Elephant in Monroe Wisc. 1975 I was 15 the drinking age was 18 and had a ID that said I was 18 remember the paper licsense? Went there with my favorite cousin Steve Stockton in his 354 Oldsmobile
