I know that the ignition point isn't 1000°C. I ment that the brener's flame reaches about 1000°C so it was a little strange that the green star didn't ignite instantly.

Really nothing! The green star can easily ignite, but the lighter crap :)
Potassium-chlorate / sugar mixture ignites 180C degrees. The other component is to increase the ignition limit. Instance, the 270C is also flammable. Not to be 1000C degrees!

Oh, OK, thanks! The green star seemed a little more hard to ignite with the brener (that has about 1000°C) so I was thinking...

Do not need it! Potassium chlorate based stars, easy to ignite.
