@vk6ufo im sorry for your pain. i just lost my aunt. she was a great person and very much loved by us all. it was also quite a suprise since she didnt really let on as to how sick she was. at least in death, thats done with, sickness n all that. one of my mentors just passed on the 15th of esophogeal cancer. he put up a good fight. one im not sure would even attempt to equal. anyway, i hope the wifey can makes sense of it all and be at peace. cheers

@VK6UFO My heart goes out to you and your wife. My husband and I had planned to make a similar xmas trip to see his mother. Last Wednesday, she called to tell us she had a week to live. We made the trip early, and got to spend a few more hours with her before she passed on Sunday evening.

Fill the time your father-in-law has left with as much warmth, kindness, and joy as you can muster. The chances to do so are all the more valuable because of how limited they are.

Really, have a merry xmas.
