Taken in 2/2005, these eagles are part of the 'Merrimack River' group that gathers in the Amesbury, MA area early in the spring.

  • Thanks Vesman; I'm not close enough to them to see actual mating in progress. (They don't let people go near them while they're nesting.)

I know, terrible pun, but I couldn't resist.

  • he never said they were mating... this is just the ritual that precedes it.

  • It is not necessarily the pre-mating ritual either. It could just be one eagle chasing another one. It happens all the time.

  • I love you for it, though. XD

  • nice tree....

  • lol

searched this up just after watching the movie as well

  • Nice video well done... just to let you know, Eagles don't mate in mid-air, its just a commonly miss conception. The male mounts the back of the female, literally standing on her back while on a limb or the nest. They do have courtship displays involving aerial acrobatics and tumbling.

  • LMAO! I just watched it a couple of minutes ago!
