I bought a 24volt 600w grid tie inverter (model PSWGT-600) but I can't prove any output?I have two 12 volt batteries attached in series (one 24volt)The green lights move as expected but my kilowatt meter shows zero watts.I've even tried a second brand new kilowatt meter just to make sure mine wasn't faulty.Does anyone know what could be wrong?

  • I wouldn't worry about the fluctuations, these things have MPPT and could have been trying to do it's thing for solar panels (read up on MPPT and you will understand). Or maybe like you said about your charger. A few of the GTI companies said not to connect them to a battery, but I think a short duration should be OK. You are planning on running this with solar cells, right?

  • @nrodge1 Yep, a solar panel connects to the controller, the controller has connections for the battery and a separate load (which i'm connecting to the inverter) if you search "10A Solar Panel Charge Controller Regulator 12V/24V cmp" on ebay you can see what i have.

  • It might sound obvious that the inverter is showing input power but "JUST IN CASE YOU DIDNT KNOW" it needs utility power coming into it or it won't work.

(so the utility worker doesn't get injured during an outage from your inverter)

My appologies if you knew this already!

  • mine also is a bit faulty but managed to get it partly working, got the 200w grid tie inverter, but found solution to it, solar panel to charge regulator controller to battery to grid tie inverter to watt meter to wall-socket watch the cables that they can handle it and how you connect it and flip the grid tie inverter a couple times on and off , then when it rises to a good wattage then its fixed , solar panels charge the batteries during daylight and at night the battery gives to wall-socket

  • Powerjack in my opinion is crap as with my setup of 130 watt from two panels setup in parrellel giving me 14.60 vdc with the powerjack 1200 14-28dc i only get the most 80 watt and since yesterday it seem stuck on 50 and in jamaica the sun shines for almost 8hrs with an intensity so hot you could cook a ham outside

  • Mine worked for a day. Just replaced shorted output transistor and 5A fuse. Works OK for now.

  • wow! not surprised i have bought several of these units various sizes and have had a 60% fail rate.once you contact the seller on ebay they may at best replace the unit but the certainly will block you from bidding on any more of there inverters. I have a least 10 of these things laying around useless that they will not make good.I find it interesting that they sell replacement parts as well on ebay as though they know these are another chinese disposable junk product

  • @dalamar437 I fixed my inverter today. 2 pcs mosfet transistor FB 38N20D was shorted.

Since my inside fuse is rated 25 amps and total amps from my 2 x 200W panels ( max combined Amps 16 A) 16 amps did not blow. If you have the same problem you can get the transistors from DIGI KEY

$4.85 each. Symptons.... When you connect the solar panels only it sparks a lot.

  • hi, can you plug in a 1000 watt hair dryer on this inverter

  • @ottopuppy Turns out 24v was the minimum. It fired right up when I added 36v to it.

  • @ottopuppy Turns out 24v is the minimum, it fired up once I added 36v to it.

  • @jimwilsonaz I have the same ? What is the difference 24 volts is 24 volts batt solar wind.

Did you ever get an answer to this??

    Thanks Greg
