Sacred fortress on an island in the sea, this is one of the most magical places on the planet. Rising from the sea like a ghostly vision, this walled medieval village with a church rising at the apex is a UNESCO World Heritage site that has been an important pilgrimage site for a thousand years. Visitors still flock here for secular as well as religious reasons, to absorb this special atmosphere, especially enhanced in December when all is cold and foggy, with few visitors clogging the little lanes. Our video glimpse shows you many highlights that might tempt you to stay for a few days on the island in one of several small hotels so you can fully absorb the experience.

  • It´s one of the best shot videos about Mont Saint Michel, with good tips about the village (that most of others videos forget).

    Thanks from Brazil!

  • I loved visiting this place in 1978. Looks the same! :P

While I would not refer to it as 'magical' I would refer to it as extraordinary and a great place to visit. It would be a fun place to see again.

  • Great video, loved it, very informative. I am going there in September.

  • The Mont is in NORMANDY not France!

Enough of this French propaganda trying to steal our Norman monuments.

We Normans conquered England, Wales, Ireland, Southern Italy, Sicily (Were we expulsed the Arabs who ruled it for 200 year), Antioch in the middle east and even parts of Northern Africa from Tunis to Tripoli.......

We Normans have had enough of people trying to eliminate our culture, language, history and identity.

  • Wow, this video really brings it to life. Hope I get to visit this wonderful place some day.

  • Nice video:)

Was there in May 2009,a lot warmer and a lot more ppl as well.

Stayed at one of the hotels on the island, and the view of Mont St.Michel at night is just spectacular!

Will have to return some time soon.Truly magical, and I miss the place.

Thanks for the video of wintertime MSM.
