not sure about 45 (on this jump) but for sure that hit itself was above 35"...
would be a total pound to the ground if he was taller... stinks to be short in volleyball..

I disagree. Anyone who plays competitive ball knows that anyone can jump. It's all about the defense.

Also, It's not really correct to say it's all about defense. Especially at the high level, where a perfect initial pass will get you a kill more often than not, even against great defense.
If you're talking about professional level club teams, then Yes, everyone can jump. But if you're referring to 16's club ball, then No, most people can't jump more than 32" or so (even thought they'll all tell you otherwise).

for the record, 45" was a guess. I don't even know this kid.
it's too bad the video quality got ruined when I uploaded it onto youtube a few years ago. I've since had to replace the computer and hence lost the original video. But in the original you could pretty clearly see that his right shoulder was well over the net at the point of contact, and his feet are about 1 foot below the net (which is generally 5 feet above the ground). so I stand by my guess.
