Screaming demands for financial reforms and an end to corporate lobbying, hundreds of people have been rallying in Washington. Protesters want Wall Street banks held accountable for the economic meltdown. And as RT's Priya Shridhar has been finding out, it seems the U.S. maybe following Europe's footsteps.

  • my ancestors did not die for this

  • Ya how's that change going for everyone?

  • @ilovegnomeland Well done to you for all your hard work. Thanks.

But we don't even need to protest or go to rallies. All we've got to do is stop being consumers.

  • @deepwater1974 Technically, it was the Civil War that marked the end of the Republic and the Constitution. That war had little to do with slavery: it was mostly about states fighting to retain sovereignty. The Republic is dead; and so is the Constitution. First it was the American Indians, then the blacks, and now it's the whites. We're all in the same boat now. Welcome to fascism.

  • @BEEBEE159 No. I don't agree with that. I think they just don't know how to organize. I know of thousands of people on various Facebook groups that are trying to organize and protest. Facebook is the necessary evil that is uniting a lot of us. I started a group, "Proactive Patriots", if anyone wants to join you're welcome to. People are willing to protest, they just don't know how. So, some of us are trying to get people together the only way we know how. It's not much, but it's a 1st step.

  • @fulehammare Unfortunately, the people you are seeing represent a miniscule minority of the American people. Rallies numbering only 50 to 100 people is not going to change anything; it is laughable at best. This country has 300 million people; and 99.9 percent of them are cowards who wouldn't stand up for anything. Even those in this clip are only "begging" for jobs and homes THEY CAN'T AFFORD. Americans are so far gone that they do not even know what freedom is.

  • Where is Bush or Republicans ? I'm so sorry for Obama have to handle this crisis.

  • I'm surprised that the american people are actually standing up. All I hear in the news is that they say that everything is OK... and normally the people believe that.

Well wonderful american people... Go For It!
