EDIT: Woohoo! 37K hits? Thanks, folks! What are the odds we can make it to 50K?

NOTE: I do not own the clips used in this video.

After Fox News anchor Eric Bolling went after the Muppets for supposedly trying to brainwash kids with anti-capitalist messages, he tried to defend himself against the onslaught of media criticism. The truth, though, is that his segment was a perfect example of Fox News "debate" tactics.

The hosts jumped from on subject to another, apparently weaving together a conspiracy when they were just lacking a focused argument. Their assertion that the villain in The Muppets was an attack on capitalism also fell flat because it relied on a one-dimensional analysis and a truly awful grasp of a little literary technique called "characterization."

  • great video, man

  • @mikeperaltamusic Thanks! Keep watching. I've got more coming.

  • "Why is being successful bad?" Well I guess that depends on how you achieved your success. By this logic, we should never someone for being successful, regardless of what they did. For example, we shouldn't criticize Mao Zedong for being successful in bringing communism to China; despite the face that 36 million people died of starvation (Jisheng, Yang) among other things. But he was "successful" so we should never criticize him or anyone else who is successful.

    (Is that extreme enough?)

  • @falconfira No... that's pretty much as moderate as you can get with that argument :-)

  • @apv92 Look for work? I have three. Put down the bong? Never smoked pot in my life. Unemployment is high? Well, it's lower than it would have been had the GOP won and it's slowly getting better. And we're closer to 8.5%. And the debt? Yeah, we didn't spend of all that. You can thank Dubya for it.

So, yes, libs are fixing things. The GOP broke it in 8 years and we're supposed to fix it in less than four? Hardly fair.

    Suggestion: Bite me.

  • I just really want to know why the republican party hates poor women.

  • @dagger3001 Like what?

  • "Oh you hate oil companies. Therefore you hate the use of oil to heat hospitals! Why do you hate sick people Hollywood!?"

That passive aggressive straw man bullshit pisses me off so much.

  • I Love this, You show so many great points in this video!

  • I just subcribed :-)

  • @ProductionMarx I'm sorry, but while I admit both major parties have SERIOUS flaws, I can't get behind Ron Paul. He says two good things, then five more than make me pause.

  • @ilmotore watch?v=4rgDyEO_8cI

  • @dagger3001 From an outside observer, both parties suck. Both are super corrupt and inherently work against the people of the US. Ron Paul seems to be the only decent candidate. Obama is a Goldman Sachs puppet who fooled everyone into thinking theres no way he'd ever be a corporate schill.

  • @quicknuss Try running your vehicle on hemp.

    too funny.

  • Great work!!! There is so much wrong in what FOX does in a single "news" story that it is cool of you to break it down like this. The fact vs. fiction, true vs. false, equal/non-equal parts of what they use to manipulate millions of viewers to make their point WHILE keeping the focus of the topic was nicely done. It's flaws such as these that will keep them from being considered REAL news.

  • @dagger3001 xD
