  • "What a beautiful city this was" Are you serious? Do you know anything about cuban history? Batista was not great, cuba may have looked colorful back then, but the casinos was for mobsters and tourists, cubans were practically slaves for the Americans and Batista used them. That is why they were happy about the revolution and that was why they supported it.

  • @TheSpassy -and they are not slaves right now? I ma saying...Cubans supported revolution and democracy ,but Castro bastard betrayed them with his egoism and mafia communism. He should call the day after communist bloc collaps in 1989 ,but it would not to be an arrogant egoist Castro..You need a private ownership, mayby even if Cuba go the Chinese way ...,but hey after tha tbillionare Castro wont be able to use island as his private enterprise with 11 millions slaves working for him.

  • @napajedlacek Cuban has improved in some ways since the Batista era, they are independent from another nation that uses them and treats them like dogs. Now they a good education and the literacy rate has risen from around 45-65 percent to 98-100 percent since Batista. There may still be oppression, but Castro is not worse than the dog Batista.

  • @TheSpassy - Castro is way worst than dog Batista - Killed more people ,No only poor during Batista are poor ,but all people are poor and suffer.Capitalism would take care about those poor.We are talking about 65% literacy in 1959 ,things would change for sure ,while Cuba would be rich .They have to do business with USA ,and they are doing that anyway ,but through other countries like Costarica. Most of the business is done with US ..embargo or not embargo .,my Cuban friend told me lots of things

  • Where you in top of the cathedral?

  • This place is on Plaza Vieja square ,just across the square from Taberna de la Muralla 0:21 ,the best beer in the town.Taberna is own by Austrian company and the have a good beer.We went up elevator and on the roof there is some kind of "optic mirror "?.,you can see all Habana ( they say only two in the world and was made in England). This part of town is renovated with Unesco money ,and very nice.

  • @napajedlacek Capitalism is even worse, communism makes everyone poor, or equal, Capitalism would create rich people, middle class and the lowest class, so the poor would still be poor. And America would have taken over the Island and made it into some corporate state (Like many places in America are today). Cuba has replaced capitalism with culture. And Batista killed alot of people, and it doesnt matter how many they killed, they both have killed people. A murderer is a murderer.

  • @napajedlacek First off, I don't understand you that well because of your bad grammar, and second, before Castro Batista seized power and he treated the people of Cuba like shit. Cuba was carribien's whore house were foreigners came to fuck the women and gamble. The mob controlled the Island and the students of university of Havana protested against his regime, but Batista's men killed people who protested or hosed them down with water.

  • you have any idea of cuban history? i guess not, silly tzech guys

  • I surely hope when Havana eventually does get renovated, that as many of the old buildings as possible can be rehabilitated and saved. Fifty years of decay will be difficult to deal with, but this is the only city in the world that retains as many historic structures. That of itself can be a tremendous attraction for visitors, while hopefully these same buildings can be made into decent housing for residents.

  • I know how you feel. Viipuri, once a jewel had been run down under sovietrule post world war II

But you can find many squalid, impoverished and architecturally appauling areas of NY, DC or LA under capitalism

Cuban revolution did result in universal health care; Something the rest of us find as essential in modern societies and yet which is abhorrent to many in the US

Freedom from communist dictatorship. Yep I agree with that.

Freedom from capitalist imperialism has its place also.

  • Yeah, they sure do spend a lot of money renovating while the rest of the people houses are running down on them, and then, they want to blame it on USA the very same people they threw out 'cause they said the hated capitalism.
