Yup I'm considering attempting to the next year's super hybrid cup in Germany with a road bike fitted with the big hxt motor and allot of lipo :)

@bzhwindtalker You can get a 7kW brushless RC for around $150.
With two you can get 0 - 60 in 4 secs, I kid you not.
Check out the trike on YouTube, he has geared it down to 40mph as it was a bit hairy at top speed.
Nice job on both the trike and the friction drive mate...i think the member on Endless Sphere was "Kepler"

really cool! I would like to add a simple friction drive to my old road bike, but with RC stuff for a very light drive, 500w sub 2kg kind. How's the performance? I am building a velomobile trike.
