  • Ironically his hair is rather uncanny valleyish...

  • The reason we do not find the cute robot eerie is partly because we do not regard it as an 'agent'. The human visual cortex has completely separate visual processing for 'agents' as opposed to 'non-agents'. The 'eerie' feeling we get is when the brain can't quite decide if an entity is an agent or not. We see the somewhat lifelike robot, and part of our mind is saying 'this is an agent in the world, we must watch it' and another is saying 'no, it's a dead thing, not an agent at all'. Weirdness.

  • A lot of celebs like Nicole Kidman, Mickey Rourke, Johnny Depp, Michael Jackson (RIP) are in that valley.

  • This guy is in the uncanny valley.

  • Is he a robot, he's been sitting in the same position throughout all the video's

  • Because people feel more familiarity with a robot that looks like a human than a human that looks like a robot, the familiarity curve begin to decline once the similarity level reached a certain point.

  • The fact that there's an uncanny valley for human perception of androids is 100 percent legit. It's obvious to me. Till some point of similarity between a robot and a human, people see a less perfect humanoid as a robot, over which human perception of "the thing" makes a 180 degree turn, from ROBOT to HUMAN.

  • I think they found Karl F. MacDorman in the uncanny valley. Is he an android?

  • HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA michael jackson
