for some reason it wont show the button on my page after I load it... All it shows is an F... how to I fix that?

Either you do not have the flash plug-in, or you haev not uploaded the .swf file(which is your button) to the server with your html file. Checking both things will solve your issue.

it seems that the file is not saving... I go through the motions and click save and nothing happens except for the flash button space holder, but there is no file...  what should I do??

The button will not actually appear in Dreamweaver only a place holder. If you hit "F12" to preview it in your browser you will see that it is there.

I use dreamweaver cs5 and when you go to the insert, media, plug in it just asks me to select a file??? no button option
