The Nighthawks at the Apollo Theatre in West Virginia covering Slim Harpo's Hipshake. Outstanding Preformances by Mark Wenner, Pete Rugusa , Pete Kanaras and Jan Zukowski. This was recorded around 2002.
They are so good!!! See them when I can...first experience 1979 on a riverboat cruise Chesapeake Bay, VA....Thank you to the hot, slightly buck tooth biker I met the night before!!!
Always great to hear anything the Nighthawks do long time follower from the times at the Reading Goal to latenites at the Place Louie Dwells(DC) (Louie's Rock Citylater in VA
@LibbyLaMano Alan 'Blind Owl' Wilson is the legendary blues harp and guitar player, one of the original founders of Canned Heat, he is the BEST harp player who ever picked up the instrument. Check him out, just search for Canned Heat on you tube, you will be blown away. And I know Mark Wenner personally, as well as Jimmy Thackery, but this dude who played in Canned Heat is the bomb. He died at the age of 27, he was a musical genius.
Saw these guys at Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom the first time they came to Atlanta, still have the vinyl, the turntable, and electric tube receiver to play... fantastic......
