OMG, i was just checking credited artists to the brand new heavies, and I did not know until today that 'sy smith' had done vocals for them 8 years ago, and for those who may not know, her I think a good starting place would be 'MY Story'. Back in the day, among all the pop music being passed of as R&B this is 1 of the few tracks I prayed they would play, and in honesty much of the stuff I love rarely gets a look in, because of who actually makes the serious money from it's exposure. Thanks YT.

@dj4monie yeah, that's The Ummah, but you'll know they didn´t produce as a whole, even though they credited themselves as a whole. This is Jay Dee's.

I first saw this video on BET, and was floored because I'm a child of the sixties, but I wouldn't watch BET today and all that soft porno garbage they call music for all the tea in China!

i prefer the album version. this one is way bassy. bassy aint a bad thing. but not for this song. i guess this was the urban version

When the Ummah came togehter, they were ahead of their time. Dilla started getting MAJOR praise after he passed! RIP J Dilla.
In 1996, alot ppl I knew fronted on Beats,Rhymes and Life. They just weren't ready for it.
