@Faboba Under National Popular Vote, every vote, everywhere, would be politically relevant and equal in every presidential election. Every vote would be included in the national count. The candidate with the most popular votes in all 50 states would get the 270+ electoral votes from the enacting states. That majority of electoral votes guarantees the candidate with the most popular votes in all 50 states wins the presidency.
@oldgulph707 Needless to say though, even if >50% of the electoral college votes are allocated in this way it isn't equivalent to the result being decided by popular vote. E.g. if states 1-25 (assume all states have equal ECVs) elect by winner-take-all electoral college and candidate A gets 51% to candidate B's 49%, even if B wins 66% of the vote 25 popvote states E will be elected with 50+(33/2)% (67%) of the available electoral college votes despite having only 42% of the popular vote overall
Shout out loud and strong. We aren't going to let Macheavellian Republicans steal our democracy. It's the middle class and the struggling poor who have fought the wars and died in unregulated working conditions to build this country. It IS our country!!! One PERSON, One Vote.
The problem here was running Dan Onorato for gov. I think many people voted against him as opposed to actually voting for Corbett. It was a lose lose situation in 2010.

The National Popular Vote bill would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states.
The bill has been enacted by DC, HI, IL, NJ, MD, MA, CA, VT, and WA. These 9 jurisdictions possess 132 electoral votes — 49% of the 270 necessary.
