I did this several times in a C-17, the poor jerk next to me didnt hold onto his -240B and the poor guy facing him got a machine gun slammed into him.

yeah! we did this in c-5s and i was just going through c-17 "combat and/or assault" landings. it was some of the gayest straight-in slow bullshit i've ever seen. hella faggish

They do less and less of these and now they opt mostly opt for a high fly and quick dive landing. Usually mission intel briefings will determine the appropriate action based on the approximate threat level at the time.
