@banklikefrankwhite1 He did all of a sudden suck, he just wasn't that good to begin with . A one trick pony gets old pretty fast.
-
@Mozart1220 he all the sudden "sucked"? He still sang the same way that made the band happy before. It's called personality conflicts. Fighting, arguing, disagreements, etc
"lucky" is such a foolish thing to say. One single..yeah, it's possible you got lucky. But if you have 5 top 6 singles, and two multi-platinum albums, you worked hard and did something right. If anything you were unlucky, because non musical factors derailed your music.
-
@Mozart1220 What two people do I know personally? Why would you assume I knew people from that show personally? The people are my sister, who's music collection would undoubtedly dwarf yours, spanning time periods and genres, and a guitar playing buddy that, like me, can look outside our preferred style and respect and appreciate it, even if we're not getting in to it.
He quit Skid Row, and your "how talented....." argument is ridiculous. You thin David Lee Roth got fired because

@banklikefrankwhite1 Which people? The losers on "That Metal Show"? People trapped in the hair band era? Bach has no "talent", he got lucky and his 15 minutes are up. Jeez, the guy got fired from Skid Row, how talented could he be?
-
@Mozart1220 indiscriminately, people still consider that guy great. From that comment, I'm beginning to confirm my initial thought that your reasons for hating him were on a personal level. Opinions are subjective, people call what they enjoy talent, and what they don't, garbage or whatever insult is "hot" right now. However, those people got where they were for a reason. There is a ton of music I just can't get in to, but I can still recognize talent, even if it's not my style.
-
@Mozart1220 You doubt I (or you) could find three people, but the reality is, neither of us collected data on it, and neither of us are going to go do the research to prove this point. I happen to know two people personally. They are the only reason I know anything about them outside of 18 and life and I remember you.
He doesn't only shriek. In fact, from the songs I've heard from their first two albums, I couldn't even say it's "normal'. David Lee Roth shrieks more often, and more
-
@banklikefrankwhite1 I doubt you could find three people who know anything from those"records" other than the two singles, and shrieking at the top of your lungs is not "good singing". It's, well...shrieking.
-
@Mozart1220 Two records, not songs. Again, you are talking about things that are unrelated to his singing talent. You don't like him on a personal level, and it prevents you acknowledging that he's a good singer. But either way, think what you want.
-
@banklikefrankwhite1 Oh wow TWO hits in the 80's! And what happened to him on "Broadway"? Replaced by David Hasseloff . He said once "Skid Row is a name that comes along ONCE in a lifetime". Well, sorry there skippy, but it was also the name of Gary Moore's band in the 70's. Even their name was stolen.
-
@Mozart1220 They had two hit records actually (5 million and 2 million copies). There are a lot more factors in Skid Row's decline than him. And maybe he is stuck in the 80's. These have nothing to do with his singing talent. He quit the band because they thought they were too big to open for KISS. I told you where he is now. Working on whatever he feels like and Broadway stuff. And obviously the TV crap, but again, that doesn't mean he's not a great singer.
To this day Metallica and Rush are some of my favorite bands. Seeing Kirk talk about them like this is just plain awesome.
