Gingrich is probably best known for serving his wife with divorce papers while she was recovering from cancer surgery, so he could marry his mistress, whom he later divorced to marry a staffer 23 years his junior. Gingrich was having an affair while he was busy impeaching Clinton for supposedly lying about having an affair. Then, Gingrich left Capitol Hill in disgrace, resigning from the House of Representatives after being slapped with a $300,000 fine for ethics violations.
