40 years ago nobody thought they'd pump their own gas. They should open up the pharmacies and maybe have "real" doctors and "2nd stringers" that all deliver the health care we can affford, not the one we want. And I pay $411/month for nothing.

Ridiculous! The reason we have so few doctors in Canada, is because they know they can make more money in the US, so they all move down there. Not fair, they train up here, usually with scholarships, and then take their knowledge to another country. Still, I'd rather spend 12 hours in a waiting room and get a free ultrasound, than to spend 2 hours, and have to fork out my home down payment to see inside my abdomen.

Where are you getting your info? Canada has private health care. As a Canadian, I have access to free heart surgery, but I need private insurance coverage for the prescription drugs for afterwards. I can have a back injury fixed for free, but private coverage handles massage therapy. Gov't covers the basic necessities so our citizens don't go broke staying healthy, private covers the rest.

Hey les1lesley:

My health insurance costs $70 a month. (My cell phone bill is $116 for comparison).

People can afford health insurance, but they stupidly decide not to pay for it.

When has the government ever reformed something for the better?

Wake up, sheeple!

SumDumbGuy-In addition...I don't recall making a case against Canada, or its failing healthcare system. Quite honestly, I could care less what kind of system or government rule they choose to live under. I am an American with CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS...And the current plan by MY government is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Sumguy-Rather than waste my time with your uneducated, unfounded, responses, Why don't you take some time and do the research in regard to this Unconstitutional act? I have a feeling that you fall into one of two categories...
1. You are a blind follower of a political party, and back their ideologies without question...or
2. You are of the "entitlement" philosophy, and expect others who have more (deservingly) than you to pay your way in life.

Pg 145 Line 15-17 An Employer MUST auto enroll employees into public option plan. NO CHOICE. Pg 126 Lines 22-25 Employers MUST pay for HC for part time employees AND their families. Pg 149 Lines 16-24 ANY Employer with payroll $400k & above who does not provide public option pays 8% tax on all payroll...This will surely inspire small business to hire new employees!! The Government option has so many loopholes in it, that it essentially forces the American people to use it creating a monopoly!
