Puppy Drake before being mauled by a dog

Drake was en route from a Kansas shelter to his forever home in New York when he was a mauled by another dog and seriously injured. Drake suffered two broken legs that required a $5,000 surgery to treat, even with a generous discount from Central Veterinary Hospital in Columbus, New Jersey. We were told Drake is a Bernese Mountain Dog mix. However, as with many rescued, mixed-mixed breed dogs it is hard to know for sure!

Drake's adopters report that he is doing well. His splints were removed, and he is doing range-of-motion exercises three times daily. He still has a long road to recovery but he is loved!
