Ok the genius that is John O'Brien and the Batman Returns Team return for one last outing onthe SEGA CD/Mega CD.

While the game is nice , I have to say I'm disappointed as the game engine isn't quite as good as in the Batman Returns , sure the game engine is handling far more on the screen , but the scaling isn't quite as smooth and there's a lack of parallax scrolling, and colours too , also the music isn't a patch on Batman Returns either, plus for some unknown reason SEGA this time didn't include the excellent Adv Of Batman and Robin Mega Drive game, which thanks to the genius that has John Brien has the best effects I've ever seen in a Mega Drive game

Its still worth getting as it's a good game in its own right and Mega CD fans should always check out what John O Brien did on the Mega CD, as along with Mark 'Mac' Avory and GameArts they were the few programmers/developers that used the Hardware to its fullest .

Also I should point out this game had loads of FMV clips that were down exclusively for the game by the original TV series animators , and its hand down some of the best FMV on the Mega CD in terms of quality , its nearly full screen and smooth as hell. In fact I've seen a lot of Saturn games with worst FMV in terms of quality .

  • I wish there would be stages you could actually play as batman and not just the batmobile

  • It's a shame they never released these cutscenes as a DVD extra on the animated series box sets- such amazing animation gone to waste...

  • wow early sprite scaling to the limit,if they tought this throught i bet more sega cd games could look this impressive, sega cd wasn't that bad but 32x is absolute garbitch.

  • 4:30 Yay, Evil Dead hommage!

  • was it only driving levels in this game?!

  • Just strange that they did not include the platform game as they had did for "Batman Returns"... Must be boring...

  • Actually the last scene is using the batplane... is kinda hard, i still cant beat it. But soon, im shure :)

  • Wish John o'Brien would get back into gaming! He was genius at what he did!

  • The game: It's seriously just driving? Honestly, who would make a game just for the cinematics... besides Square?

The cinematics: Great animation and use of the original cast, but it lacks Batman-y music. Couldn't get the rights, I presume?

  • The original FMVs are easily the standout of the game. Having the original crew from BTAS was a huge plus.

  • Actually, it was being repaired that week so that's why he couldn't use it. That became the plotline for the subsequent sleeper hit "The Adventures of Batman and Robin 2: Alfred Fixes the Batplane."
