A short clip of footage shot in Shelburne N.S., featuring a wooden long boat built by the Loyalist Landing Committee of 2008.

Shot in collaboration with 3RB Productions during principal photography for "Spirit Cove" a documentary about the Expulsion of the Acadians.

Many thanks to the enthusiasm of the cast. Oh yes ... The footage is mostly feet as it's comprised of B rolls and specialty shots for incorporation in other footage.

All footage shot with a single Canon XL1and edited using DPS Editbay.

  • Thank You Sir.

The most sensible comment(s) I have seen on this video.

    You are a wise man.

    The video producer ...

  • @Thisbloodypave

You appear very bitter. With all the turmoil and strife there is going on in this world, I think perhaps your line of thinking is a bit bent.

The expulsion of the Acadiens was miniscule in comparrison to the atrosities which are going on right now. The object of the excersise was to show, that not much has changed.

It's my opinion that people like you keep feeding the fire, through ignorance, prejiduce, and hate.

    Shame.

I hope you do well in all you do.

  • One thing you folks aren't getting, is that this documentary was based on real events, namely, the expulsion of the Acadians (french), both in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, who had lived peacfully for a couple hundred years. If you didn't bow to the British flag, you're out. They burned their houses, killed their livestock, raped their women, and sent them all packing to Louisianna. (Hence the term "Cajun", a slang for "Acadian".

  • Makes me laugh the yanks making the british army out to be like the nazis. Lets face it, we behaved better in this war than America did 200 years later in vietnam. Dont see American directors jumping to make films about the My Lai Massacre. Infact I doubt most Americans have even heard of it.

  • Shit, they're back.

  • @IronDave100 Atrocities were committed on both sides and you know that American historians do acknowledge that? The 'funny' thing overall is that it was a civil war in reality, Red Coats fought against other subjects of her Majesty's empire, most of the 'Patriots' were an Englishmen tired of being mistreated by the Great Britain, Dutch settlers in America kept themselves out of it. Also, many people forget that around 30% of the colonials were on the British side during this war. Greetings.

  • @Werebat Well if you cant understand your level of hypocritical behavior, and, if you cant understand my meaning then you truly have very little understanding of the English language;- clearly evident in your last reply.

  • @theathiestalaby finally, the reason why you should check your grammar is that as it stands it is difficult to understand what you are trying to say. There is a world of difference between grammar nitpicking and pointing out that a sentence is flat out undecipherable. If you can't see that, I'm genuinely sorry for you.

  • @theathiestalaby your criticism is weak. And you still have a strange view of what an Acadian is. They had no interest in "returning" to France, despite some of them being deported there in le Grand Derangement, as they hadn't lived there in generations. Your assertions reveal your lack of knowledge.

  • @theathiestalaby thousands of my DESCENDENTS? Really? The only way my DESCENDENTS could be around in 1755 is if I were an Akkadian, not an Acadian. Look it up.

  • @Werebat Also, capital for first word, "You', "As for you 'Last' statement", and you could utilize a more developed vocabulary in the instance of:- "You might love the British, (comma needed) but you certainly don't know their language very well", should be "...But it's clear that you aren't very familiar with their language". You even fail at being a 'grammar Nazi'.

  • @Werebat I know what an Acadian is, after the incident of 1755, thousand of your descendants were deported from Nova Scotia. An Acadian now refers to someone of French descent living in North-East America like Maine and Philadelphia. Also, once someone criticizes grammar, legibility, or spelling, it's the last resort of a troll. Why would I spend time checking grammar. And, the only two things missing from your example as a comma, and 'not' nor 'for'. Now, just shoo dirty little Frenchman.

  • @theathiestalaby you clearly do not know what an Acadian is. As for your statement, "just get over the fact that the French never have been for ever will be better than any of the four British countries", I just don't know what to make of it. You might love the British but you certainly don't know their language very well.

  • @theathiestalaby The British called -- they want you to stop mangling their language.
