Interview With Weta Regarding: Live Action Evangelion Movie

I know this interview is a couple of years old, but I thought it might be nice to add to Youtube. From what I have read on different forums the movie is supposed to have a budget on 120 million dollars. Currently they are at the stage of choosing a director.

I wonder how the christian community would react to an live action Eva movie considering the references it uses.The bitching would be IMMENSE. They would react the same like they did with Avatar. Religous ppl will always try to fuck up something. Mark my words....

You dudes should never say the word robot.You should pitch the movie as.Giant armor plated living organisms cloned from god like angels!The hole story,biblical theology,concept,and cost to make this movie will make you puke in your hat!This movie will make Avatar,Lord of the Rings,Star Wars look like some bad Disney film.Just sayin.LMAO!

@fromstart2finish I think it's all about who is directing it. I mean, if Peter Jackson or Christopher Nolan directs it, then we all know it's going to be good. It might even revolutionize anime-adapted films.

Weta is involved with the eva movie. They are not american, they are placed in new zealand and they have already an impressive number of good movies under their belt both praised for visuals and storytelling.

these include:

The Lord of the Rings trilogy

King Kong

District 9

Hellboy etc. I think if they did a eva movie they would do it right......

@HiroIndo16 Seems you forgot to write down the rest of what he said, which was 6:31 "To be perfectly honest, I havn't watched the show at any great level before I started working on it." Which seems to imply he did watch the show. You're using the same verbal tactics the terrorist use when the try to use the koran to justify their crimes, in other words use only the part that helps them instead of the whole thing.
