Mike Gravel speaking at Pepperdine University with students at around 5 PM Pacific, Thursday, Jan 31st, 2008. It was supposed to be an alternative debate but the TiVo apparently was not working. The whole video is about 1 hr. 14 mins of what I was able to capture, and I will try to upload it in 10 min pieces as fast as time permits me.

This is my first time uploading a youtube video so excuse any errors or mistakes.

Due to technical difficulties, the event became a full fledged question and answer series between Gravel and the students. It is my honest opinion that this was his best alternative debate yet. Gravel gives the raw, unfiltered truth without the constraints of the old format.

Here are links to the videos, an eight part series of total length 1 hr 14 min:

  • Gravel Kucinich Paul Nader -

    The truth is powerful.

  • Vote for Mike Gravel in '08!

Also, watch his latest appearance at Pepperdine University (Thursday, January 31st, 2008) on my channel (1 hour 14mins cut up into 10 min segments, 8 parts).

It's raw, uncensored footage of him going at it with students asking him tough questions. As one person noted at the beginning he was getting barraged by questions and at the end the students just stayed quiet and listened to what he had to say.

    It's his best yet!

  • Question: How do I get it so after the video finishes the next videos in the series show up? Like where it says scrolls those videos in that black screen? Can I tell it to show the other videos or is it randomly associated?

  • i 'think' it's random.. set the same tags and that'll increase their chances of showing up. or just set the other videos as responses to this one.

  • Thanks for the thanks I appreciate it. I will try those suggestions sagaforest. All the videos will be uploaded by today so you'll be able to see all of them.

  • Anytime uterfan. It's all for Sen. Gravel.

Enjoy Mike in this because he definitely has a good sparring session with students here. Imagine how he could have done in the real debates with Obama and Hillary. I shudder at the thought in a good way. Hopefully they should all be uploaded by tomrrow or Sunday the latest.

  • Mike tells the truth everyone of voting age needs to listen very closely. The top tier politicians say what they think people want to hear but only Mike has a real plan for the future.

  • He really hates Hillary.

    I do too...

  • Independents only can operate as a spoiler In this case as in the past, such as a GW Bush election, Nader took votes from a democrat, giving the balance to GW Bush. He could do the samething again. To give him a chance and prevent such an effect, we should change the ballot. We need a ballot where we can vote not just for one candidate but for a first, second and third etc. Then if our first choice doesn't get a majority on first count, our vote moves to our second etc

  • Hahahah i was one of 222 people who voted for Mike in my state!

  • the main point is that the insurance companies would not be able to deny coverage for anything. what will be mandated is the minimum care and all companies must cover all things.

what they compete for is lowering the price they charge you for the coverage because they want to fight to get as many certificates as possible because the certificate pays out the cost of that persons health care. the "insurance" companies must be more like nonprofit organizations but can make profit by lowering costs

  • Its five Insurance plans plus a govt plan, his plan is similar to what france has plus it goes further than theirs. Go research the french health care system. Essentially you dont have to have an employer provide health care for you.

  • well first he'll lower the price of drugs. thats the most important thing. Then he'll provide anyone who's too poor to obtain coverage a certificate (thats paid for by a sales tax instead of a corporate tax) that will then give them the ability to obtain the coverage they're seeking. It's not a radical shift. it's just giving legitimate coverage to the uninsured. its not rocket sciece. Just insure the uninsured. and regulate the insurance co.s. and you can do that by lowering the price of drugs

  • I swear, I just don't get the "five company or fed. gov't." health-care plan that Gravel proposes. "They'll compete on the cost of paper"? Which five? It doesn't seem very clear, at least to me.

  • Make sure to share this with all you YouTube contacts, c'mon takes like 10 seconds.

  • How about a Gravel/Nader ticket? Can you have a party canidate with an independent on one ticket for President? Really, I don't know
