@kevindevoid - In all honesty I liked Pete Willis and remember reading in People Magazine I believe when he was replaced. Phil Collen is a better guitarist IMHO, and definitely fit better with Steve Clark than Willis did. Phil Collen had and has his role in the band, and Def Leppard are better for it. Phil Collen is great to fans, and seemingly down to Earth kinda guy. Check out Roadhouse, Willis has writing credits, and though they were ok he didn't really add anything unique to the music.
Rock! Rock! Til You Drop! Wow, it's incredible to think this is the incarnation of that song, though changed lyrically, and expanded on musically as well! Pretty cool! I've been a BIG FAN of Def Leppard since 1981, and have seen them in every decade, and almost every incarnation. They're still an amazing band today, and though I like Vivian Campbell immensely the loss of Steve Clark hurt the band's ability song writing wise! Take care..... Peace To All
I was at this show .Ted Nugent was the headliner.Scorpions were second, and Def Leppard opened the show. The best triple bill I've ever seen.I left my Def Leppard 1980 world tour T-shirt in one of the classrooms at WCTI in 1983,bummer.
well, i humbly stand corrected. thought for sure mutt only produced the remixes for bringing on the heartbreak and me and my wine.
i still contend, however, that mutt ruined the band. hi and dry rocked much harder than hysteria! even if the latter sold more copies or whatever...

but, i agree on the level that i prefer his period of def leppard, the "pre-mutt" period.

music is work. i do not even like to hear people say "play music". work and alcohol do not mix, period.
