  • I think the SMA is in the back.

    Anyways, they've tried putting piezoelectrics into ski's where they convert the bending of the ski's into electricity, and it's burnt off by like an led or something. Might be a gimic, but hey, it's cool.

  • @Hipster420 i think the front is the shape memory, demonstrating its ability to deform and still hold its shape under weight. notice the back is slightly squashed with the weight applies and the front isnt?

  • Very cool...I'm assuming that the shape memory alloy is the ring in the back. Is the back ring smaller or is it just the camera angle? If so why?
