Personal video biographies are custom documentaries made about the lives of parents and grandparents (or our own) and shot on video.

The idea is to tell the subject's story through video interviews, personal photographs, historical photographs and music, occupational footage, home movies and so on.

A video biography is really just a personal documentary.

This promo was made around 5 years ago now and has since been retired from service. But, old and creaky though it is, it's still a good summary of the nature of personal video biographies and the reasons why we should make sure we preserve the stories of those in our families who have gone before us. Transcript of Video:

"Family. Ancestors. Growing up. Service. Love. Devotion. Suffering.

Our stories define who we are; who we were; how we started; and how we changed. Our stories reach back to other time; other places...

Our stories connect us to world events...

Your Story Here has a mission. To record your story in an attractive and entertaining way. And to preserve your story for now, and for the future, for you and your family.

The key to the success of Your Story Here is our attention to detail. Nowhere is our care more apparent than in our photo preservation work. Photographs are moments frozen in time. The results speak for themselves.

(Second extract of Patsy's personal video biography.)

But a photo is just a photo. With your help, we identify the people, the occasion and the dates. And we present old images in a way that brings out details that might have been hidden for decades.

We mix the interview, with the restored photographs. WE add historical images. Final Cut Pro allows us to zoom in and pan across to reveal all the details in the photograph.

The final product is a DVD playable in any DVD player and in any computer. We present your story here with a custom designed cover. You'll find that the whole experience is a lot less work and a lot less stress than you might have imagined.

Your Story is important to you, your family, your friends. Your story is important now, and for future generations.

Put your story here.
