Dry-ice used to help supersaturate chamber, small radioactive source on end of needle produces alpha rays which leave streaks of condensed vapor in the chamber.

  • Emitted radioactive particles ionize the surrounding particles of air, these ions are then used as center for condensation of the alcohol particles floating around(condensate state=liquid) thus leaving a track behind

  • the methanol is cooled by the dry ice to a vapour state that is close to condensing with a liquid....the alpha particles ionise the air and cause the methanol to turn into liquid form
