  • Viewed from a metaphorical viewpoint: It's the background screen upon which the movie takes place. That background of course never changes, just the events and characters in the film.

  • I understand all this intellectually, I am the awareness of this intellect, I am the awareness of this confusion, I am the awareness of my practice. There is nothing that needs to be done, anything done will just be a phenomena, I am the witness of this phenomena. I am not doing anything, I am the awareness of doing. Why is there speak of bondage in the mind? Why is this even an issue? Is the self pretending to be lost? Does it like to suffer?

  • I sent U a PM.

  • @prajna8 Do you have a PDF by chance of Bhagavans 40 verses? or know where to get one?

  • mumuwu: Yes, the first person or ego or jiva does not exist. Only the Self (atman) or pure Consciousness/Awareness exists. When the first person called "I" is itself found not to have any existence at all then how can the second and third persons called he, she or they exist? Like you said there is only Self Awareness or Sat Chit Ananda. Anything else is taken to be real only because of non enquiry or non investigation.

  • So long as one thinks I am a bound one, thoughts of bondage and liberation will last. When looking into oneself by self investigation Who is this bound one?, the eternally free and ever-shining Self alone will (be found to) exist. Thus, where the thought of bondage no longer stands, can the thought of liberation still endure? - Forty verses, verse 39. Therefore for the real Self (atman) there is neither bondage nor liberation and as for the ego it never existed at all in the first place.

  • Only by the first person attention Who am I? will the right knowledge be gained that the ego, the first person, is ever non-existent, and only when the first person is thus annihilated will the truth be realized that bondage and liberation are false.

Bondage and liberation was for the ego or false I. But when it is found by the enquiry "Who am I?" that the ego was ever non existent then for whom is the problem of bondage or the freedom of liberation? quote per Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi

  • WHAT AM I ? never a response because I am PRIOR!!!!!!!!!!

  • What we are is always evident. It 'appears' obscured through ignorance. When the ignorance is gone, we see clearly what we are and always were, like the golden necklace we 'find' around our own neck. (Atma Bodha)

  • Devarsi is not MrBlackie and IpsaPaphum is not God, but there's a place where we all meet, where God's powers are just as insignificant as ours, however glorious they may be, they fall and rise in the eternal abyss of the godhead.
