The sale to Rupert Murdoch was completed on January 19, 1987. I think within a week, the call sign and branding started changing.

@VaultMasterDBT - And the Fox Hourly ID (which I posted in a different vid) showed up on air in March 1987 (Fox-25).

Also, just heard yesterday: Murdoch is now making moves to now control the news operations and content of his O+O stations; to run them as local divisions of FOX News network, with content controlled by.. Murdoch......

@austinfeet That happened to me with especially WNEW's TD's as they seemed to have them the most in the NY market in the 80s. Double points if the picture/sound spazzed out on-screen.

that's correct. no warning. i turned on to watch world class wrestling and some show was in it's place. i was like....WTF!!!!!!! and the rest is history.
