Here's both versions of the Lonely In Your Nightmare video.

The version at the top was (until late 2009) the unfeasibly rare original edit, the bottom version being (until late 2009) the more common second edit that is half made up of extra black and white footage that was possibly filmed in London.

Both videos will play twice. The first soundtrack is the original 1982 mix (that was butchered on the original Rio album release), the second at 4:50 is the Kershenbaum remix that appeared on the two North American reissues in late 1982.

  • my favorite video love it!!!

  • Very impressive! I do still prefer the Mulcahy version I think, even though the new scenes were something like a year later!

  • two versions for same video, alternate scenes, big success

  • Amazing work, thank you so much.

I think the video or the recording one has heard or seen first is always superior. That's how it goes. I like the video album version with black and white additions and the sound without Kershenbaum. The drum sound was always very poor to be honest but he certainly did not improve it, quite the opposite.

  • i think the reason for re-doing the video was for the 'Video Collection' Russell Malcahey sort of linked the videos together ,this had Simon pick up a still-shot of teh last scene of 'Planet Earth' that linked to this video .The new footage was filmed in London at the same time as ''Is There Something I Should Know' (they have the same hairstyles/look) in 1983 when the compilation was made, and they used the same actress in the scenes with Roger and Andy in London

  • Absolutely adore this.<3

  • I only ever knew the bottom version, as it was included on that Duran Duran VHS compilation video from the mid 80's. I thought it was cool how they segway'd Planet Earth into that video with the picture on the ground.

  • How come they did 2 videos then? Were both of them played on MTV? I like both verzsions :)

  • Very interesting! Didn't know there were 2 versions - thanks a ton for uploading!

  • Very nice to compare simultaneously. I just wish they could be side by side to make full use of the window and see a larger image of each.
