@Rogeliolkjhgfdsa thing is, FW was faster than USB but not that much faster than USB 2.0 (today's standard). Also u have to remember that 1st Gen. iPod was Mac only and all Macs had FW while PCs didn't (not all) so when iTunes was available for PCs, Apple had to switch to USB in order for it to work and open the iPod to a market 20 times the size of Mac only market. hope this was useful.

why did we swich from firewire to usb? isnt firewire faster than usb in terms of syncing?

this devise holds 1000 songs and fits in my pocket but now
this little devise holds over 200 apps 50,000 songs 100 movies/tv shows and fits right in my pocket
