Two versions of an Australian ad for Cointreau orange liqueur.
Now when I was a young, ankle-biting rugrat (when this ad first screened) I had no idea what this ad was about (let alone what Cointreau actually was - I was a good boy ;).
Many years have passed and I'm *still* mystified by this ad - all I know is that it rates rather high on the pretentiousness scale for me!
Judging by the satisfied look on the man's face, I always thought he'd found intrigue in both the woman and drink; the woman leaves (he's somewhat dishevelled) but at least he's still got his Cointreau. Something of a profound metaphor?

Me too! How weird! Its like, he sends her over a cointreau and then she disappears! Whats the message supposed to be? "Drink cointreau, it scares women away." Or maybe: "Drink cointreau, it makes you hallucinate beautuful women are around you when there are,in fact, none around."
